Rescue teams have failed to trace Anchal Sood, who was on a trekking expedition to Bara Bhanghal. Sources said Anchal Sood and Parkash Chand had left Palampur on Friday. Parkash had called up his parents on Saturday saying he would reach Bara Bhanghal on Sunday. Since then, the two have been missing. Some locals have found a man’s body, but it is yet to be identified. Baijnath SDM Sunayana Sharma said three teams had been sent to rescue the trekkers. She said help from the Indian Air Force had also been sought. The only satellite phone in Bara Bhanghal is out of order. Paras Ram, up-pradhan of Bara Bhangal, said he had warned Anchal Sood against taking Parsu route, but the latter did not pay any heed. Last month, nine officials of the Income Tax Department from New Delhi remained trapped on the route for a week.
